Enhancing CSO resilience against disinformation related threats in Armenia | ||||||||||
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH | ||||||||||
Ahead of Armenia’s June 2026 parliamentary elections, propaganda is expected to intensify. The Atlantic Council’s DFRLab and other researchers report that Russia and Azerbaijan have been coordinating efforts to undermine the EU-Armenia relations, including attemptsto compromise the EU monitoring mission, visa liberalisation, and other cooperation. Armenian officials have confirmed ongoing Russian hybrid threats, including the use of local proxies through adapted public diplomacy. Youth attitudes are a concern; a September 2024 IRI poll showed young Armenians are the least supportive of EU integration. Political apathy and preferences for specific media and social networks may be the main factors.
